In a somewhat surprising move, Oregon State’s high-flying junior guard Jared Cunningham has declared for the NBA draft and will hire an agent.

It’s somewhat surprising for a few reasons. It’s not that he doesn’t have the talent. But he does lack some of the physical strength to play at the next level. Teams that got physical with Cunnigham were able to take him out of his game.

But the kid feels he’s ready.

NBA draft express has Cunnigham going 25th … in the second round. Chad Ford has Cunningham ranked 96th on his top 100.

OSU still returns four starters and basically everyone but Cunningham and Kevin McShane for next season.

Some more links ….

Andre Roberson believes he should have been the Pac-12 defensive player of the year last season instead of Jorge Gutierrez.  Roberson is going to play at least one more year for the Buffs.
