Jordan Payton, who went on national television at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl last month and declared his allegiance to California – has now changed his mind a here 24 hours from signing day.

Payton, out of Oaks Christian, decommitted from the Bears on Tuesday, and instead chose Washington – marking the second great haul in the past day for coach Steve Sarkisian and new star recruiting assistant Tosh Lupoi.

Late Monday night, the Huskies also got an oral commitment from safety Shaq Thompson, also an ex-Cal commit.

Payton is a big, physical receiver who can be a middle-of-the-field threat for quarterback Keith Price.
