The Huskies wrapped up a big recruiting day on Tuesday by getting a verbal commitment from wide receiver Jaydon Mickens out of Dorsey High.

At 5-8, 175 pounds, Mickens was an all-purpose back for the LA powerhouse.  He rushed for 378 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 32 passes for 558 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

He is rated as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com and the No. 11 receiver in the country. , Scout.com also rates him as a 4-star recruit and No. 45 WR in the country.

Here’s his Scout.com evaluation …

Mickens lacks size for the outside receiver position, but he is ideal for the slot and return game. He has excellent field vision and good quickness. He has above average hands and knows how to find the open spots in a defensive zone. He has a good sense for setting up his blocks in the return game, and despite blazing top end speed, is still capable of making the big play. – Scott Kennedy, National Recruiting Analyst

The commits of Jordan Payton earlier in the day and Mickens give the Huskies some more talent to an already deep and talented receiving class.
