The Huskies have released the base pay salary figures for their assistant coaches, including the new hires of Justin Wilcox, Tosh Lupoi, Eric Kiesau, Peter Sirmon and Keith Heyward.
The story appeared on the school’s website earlier today when I was away from my computer (parents in town and having lunch).
It’s instructive to remember that these figures our base pay. So bonuses, incentives or other details like car service or a boat, yes, a boat, or living arrangements aren’t included in these.
Technically, they are “memos of understanding” so the final contracts need to be confirmed by the Board of Regents.
And in these memos of understanding, some bonuses and incentives aren’t listed, or things like buyouts. We won’t know about those until the contracts are approved and released.
Basically, UW will pay its assistants $2.73 million next season, which is up from the $2.3 million it paid in 2011.
Also UW also paied $650,000 to Nick Holt, $220,008 to Mike Cox and $155,000 to Jeff Mills as severance for their firings.
Perhaps Randy Moss summed it up best … “Straight cash homey!”
