Matt Barkley announced today that he will return to USC for the 2012 season. That pretty much means USC will be the top team in the Pac-12 South and likely the whole conference next season.

Here’s video of Barkley’s announcement

The Trojans do lose offensive tackle Matt Kalil and defensive end Nick Perry. But they do return the bulk of their team next year, including receivers Robert Woods and Marqise Lee.

Jim Mora cannot be pleased.

Meanwhile, Jake Heaps announced that he will transfer to Kansas next year to play for new head coach Charlie Weis.
