Pac-12 announces all-conference teams: Chris Polk only Husky to make first team

The Pac-12 all-conference teams were announced today and Chris Polk was the only Husky to earn first team honors, joining LaMichael James as the other running back.

Senior linebacker, Cort Dennison, who leads the conference in tackles and senior offensive tackle Senio Kelemete earned second-team honors.

QB Keith Price, DT Alameda Ta’amu, CB Desmond Trufant, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins and WRs Devin Aguilar and Jermaine Kearse were named honorable mention.

Erickson, Neuheisel officially fired; Wulff still in limbo

Well two are done, and one is likely waiting to be done.

Yesterday reports swirled that Arizona State’s Dennis Erickson of Arizona State, UCLA’s Rick Neuheisel and Washington State’s Paul Wulff would all be officially fired today.

Two of those coaches were informed they are done.

Erickson (ab0ve) met with AD Lisa Love and was told he would be let go after the season, but would coach a bowl game.

AP Top 25 hoop poll: Cal only Pac-12 team to be ranked, St. Louis at No. 23

The Cal Bears are the only Pac-12 team left in the AP Top 25 poll. The Huskies were in the others receiving votes, garnering 12 points. If you counted it out, the Huskies would be ranked 35th overall. St. Louis which beat the Huskies last Sunday, and won the 76 Classic in Anaheim this past weekend is at No. 23.

Former Husky hoop player Andrew Moritz loses his battle with cancer

Andrew Moritz: 1978-2011

Former Husky basketball player Andrew Moritz – a walk-on player from Franklin  - lost his three-year battle with cancer late last night. He was age 33.

The blog titled: “Year of the Comeback” set up by his family to his battle with a rare form of cancer,   notified followers of his passing.

With peace in his heart and love in the room, our beloved Andrew took his last breath tonight. He was surrounded by his family and a few close friends. It was peaceful and so beautiful.

Wrapping up the Huskies’ 38-21 win in the 104th Apple Cup

Another Apple Cup has come and gone and it wasn’t dull that’s for certain. The Huskies cemented their first winning record since 2002 with a 38-21 win.

Washington will now take this week off from practice. They will begin workouts on Saturday. As for their bowl future, it basically comes down to the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, the Sun Bowl in El Paso or the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. If I had to make a guess, I would say the Alamo Bowl.

More Pac-12 coaching changes coming: Wulff, Erickson and Neuheisel all likely out

It appears that Paul Wulff, Dennis Erickson and Rick Neuheisel will all be fired in the coming days. None of which really comes as a surprise.

Reports following last night’s Apple Cup have Wulff being fired possibly as early today, depending on when he meets with WSU athletics director Bill Moos. With last night’s loss Wulff is now 9-40 during his tenure at Washington State. Despite the injuries to quarterbacks to Jeff Tuel at the start of the season and Connor Halliday at the end of the season, Wulff couldn’t save his job with a 4-8 record.
