Wide receiver James Johnson is in a walking boot after suffering a high ankle sprain
Cornerback Anthony Gobern is progressing from his concussion and should be ready for Saturday.
Safety Justin Glenn wasn’t able to go last week because of a foot sprain. “He just wasn’t right,” Sarkisian said. The hope is for Glenn to be ready this week. Sarkisian noted it would be important in terms of rotating and keeping safeties fresh.
Sarkisian will once again serve as the scout team quarterback this week to make sure that scout team runs at a high tempo similar to what Oregon runs at.
Sarkisian said there was little difference between quarterback Bryan Bennett and Darron Thomas in terms of Washington’s preparation. “They are still running the same plays,” he said. He also admitted he’s more concerned about the three-headed speed monster of LaMichael James, De’Anthony Thomas and Kenjon Barner.
Speak of De’Anthony Thomas, after he backed out of his commitment to USC, there was some thought that he might go to Washington. The Huskies were among Thomas’ finalists, but Sarkisian said he felt like they never had a chance at landing the heralded recruit.
