Quick notes from the Steve Sarkisian press conference

Wide receiver James Johnson is in a walking boot after suffering a high ankle sprain

Cornerback Anthony Gobern is progressing from his concussion and should be ready for Saturday.

Safety Justin Glenn wasn’t able to go last week because of a foot sprain. “He just wasn’t right,” Sarkisian said. The hope is for Glenn to be ready this week. Sarkisian noted it would be important in terms of rotating and keeping safeties fresh.

Chris Polk named Pac 12 offensive player of the week

We haven’t received the official press release from the Pac 12 yet, but University of Washington officials have informed us that Chris Polk is the Pac 12 offensive player of the week following his 100-plus yard rushing, 100-plus receiving and five-touchdown performance against Arizona.

Know your enemy: A first look at the Oregon Ducks. Who will be their starting QB?

The Ducks  predictably beat Washington State on Saturday in Autzen. The score looks worse than it was.  Oregon was out of sync a little early and quarterback Darron Thomas, who was starting after missing the Colorado game with a knee injury looked rusty, throwing some interceptions. Chip Kelly even pulled Thomas and inserted back-up Bryan Bennett, who sparked the offense in the second half. Running back LaMichael James also started after dislocating his elbow a few weeks ago.
