The UW running back position was a little thin today at practice. Johri Fogerson was not at practice today and he won’t be available for the rest of the season. Monday’s MRI revealed that Fogerson suffered a tear in the knee where the hamstring connects to the lower leg. He will have season-ending knee surgery on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jesse Callier, who wore the red no contact jersey on Tuesday, did not participate in any team drills. Sarkisian said that Calliers is still bothered by the sore hamstring.  That leaves Chris Polk, Bishop Sankey and walk-on Willis Wilson.

Also on the injury front, Danny Shelton went down in practice, injuring his foot. He tried to have it re-taped and go back in, but it didn’t work and he spent the rest of it with an ice pack on it. .

“He kind of banged his foot I guess, so we are going to check it out,” Sarkisian said. “It’s pretty sore. He has done it before to his other foot he said. So we don’t’ feel as concerned about it. But anytime a big guy and his feet get involved, you definitely want to take all the proper precautions.”
