Coach Steve Sarkisian announced after Thursday’s practice that junior running back Chris Polk tweaked a knee in the Wednesday practice and had arthroscopic surgery on it Thursday morning. He said Polk might miss a couple weeks, and the season-opener against Eastern Washington could be in doubt.

Polk was on the sidelines through Thursday’s entire workout and was walking around without apparent difficulties. He wore sweat pants, so it was impossible to see what manner of bracing he might have been wearing

In his absence, Jesse Callier got most of the carries with the first group on Thursday and will be expected to be the featured back.
