Jeff Lindquist, a 6-foot-3 and 225-pound junior quarterback at Mercer Island High School, has given an oral commitment to the University of Washington, according to multiple reports.

As a junior, Lindquist threw for 1,994 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also ran for 1,017 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Lindquist told Scout.com that he was relieved to make the decision.

“It kind of feels like I let a big breath out,” he said. “I get to go back to being a high school kid for a while.”

Lindquist also had scholarship offers from Stanford and Washington State. He has been nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January at San Antonio.
