On the possibility to divide into divisions: We haven’t decided yet. The process now is going to be to go through and dig into all those questions. Do we have a championship football game, and if so, will w have divisions and how will those be organized? All of this expansion stuff has happened at a rapid pace and now there are a lot of details we will get into.

Utah has been invited to join the Pac-10 conference, the Associated Press just reported, and the Deseret News reports the school will accept the invitation.
The Utes, currently affiliated with the Mountain West Conference, would become the conference’s 12th member – Colorado accepted an invitation last week. The move comes two days after being turned down by Texas, Oklahoma and three other Big 12 schools.
This new configuration would allow the conference to have a playoff game in football, something that would be a revenue generator.

The Associated Press talked with Mountain West commission Craig Thompson about a potential move of Utah to the Pac-10, and Thompson said he was told by Utah’s athletic director that the university had not been contacted by the Pac-10.
