Aloha, Mr. Jones; see you in November

Apparent-Kentucky-Wildcat-to-be-for-now Terrence Jones has told the Oregonian that he isn’t embarrassed by his handling of his recruitment.

And then he kicked a little sand in UW’s face by adding that he picked Kentucky because:

“I felt like they played a better schedule and had a lot better team.”

Interestingly, one thing both the Washington and Kentucky schedules have in common next season are November stops at the 2010 Maui Invitational.

And that could provide all concerned with the opportunity to see who’s the better team.

Update: Speaking on KJR-AM this morning, UW coach Lorenzo Romar admitted he’s never seen anything quite like this, implied he’s probably done with this recruit even if Jones changes his mind yet again, stressed that he’s excited about his team and this recruiting class as it as, and said that he’ll probably keep the open scholarship in his pocket until next class.

Makes you wonder whats going on here. Romar also lost another top guy to Kent.

Coach Romar should have been done with him the moment he waffled. I hate to diss the kid but man it not like they were asking you to make a spur of the moment decision.

The kid’s next appearance will be on VH1′s Tool Academy…We should be thrilled that we got Terrence Ross (a player that is genuinely excited to be a Husky)! Calipari and the boosters came up with money…just like they did with Kanter. We’ll be reading about that in about 3-5 years. It will make Eddie Sutton’s time at UK seem Bobby Knight-like when it comes to integrity and keeping money out of the college game.

How can I find out the schedule of the 2010 Maui Invitational??

Who are we playing first on the 22nd of November??

  5. Who cares about him… let’s talk Husky football. Basketball season is a long ways away.

I have a link to the Maui Invitational above. Apparently the 2010 bracket isn’t set yet.
