Ex-UW coach Winter bound for Hall

Former Washington coach Tex Winter is among eight inductees that will be enshrined into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in November.

Winter recorded 454 victories in his college career that included stops at Marquette (1952-53), Kansas State (1954-68), Washington (1969-71), Northwestern (1974-78) and Long Beach State (1979-83). In his three seasons at UW, his teams went 45-35, finishing .500 or better during each season (13-13, 1969; 17-9, 1970; 15-13, 1971).
