UW freshman center Spencer Hawes was taken No. 10 in today’s NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings finished last in the NBA’s Pacific Division last season with a 33-49 record. Their incumbent starting center is Brad Miller, an eight-year veteran who averaged nine points and 6.4 rebounds last season. Also on the roster is former Sonic Vitaly Potapenko.

With the selection, Washington became the only school to have a player taken in the first round of the last three NBA drafts, with Hawes joining Brandon Roy, who went No. 6 last season, and Nate Robinson, who went 21st in 2005.
