The first half played out according to form with the Purple — starters and top reserves — dominating the Gold team, 28-0.

Receiver Marcel Reece has been dominating with three touchdowns: a one-handed catch of a nice lob from Jake Locker, a 10-yard out from Bonnell, and a nice 32-yard catch and run including a nice juke past walkon DB Jay Angotti.

I don’t have halftime stats, but No. 2 quarterback has been highly effective. Jake Locker only so-so, especially given the talent advantage of this team.

Finally, this: Linebacker Dan Howell isn’t here, for reasons to be explained during the postgame press conference.
