Practice was closed today, and since the team was off yesterday, there wasn’t a lot of news out of today’s media session.

However, coach Tyrone Willingham did announce that he has decided to play the spring game in as much of a game-like format as possible.

There will be exceptions, such as the use of a running clock, except in the final two minutes of each half when normal clock stoppages will be observed. At other times, the clock will stop only on change of possessions and scores.

Also, quarterbacks will be protected from contact.

The game kicks off at 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Admission if free. There will be no TV coverage, but the game will be broadcast on KJR (950-AM).

Willingham said the team is mostly healthy for the game, although defensive tackle Wilson Afoa (shoulder), kicker Ryan Perkins (knee) and receivers Anthony Russo (hamstring) and Quintin Daniels (knee) are questionable.

Guard Casey Bulyca, who suffered a foot injury in practice Tuesday, was expected to practice without restriction today.

The Huskies will hold their final practice of spring Friday.
