I’ve arrived at McKale Center for today’s game … with is a morning tip even here with the time difference.


I’ll click in as news develops, at halftime and after the game.


For now, some basics:


WASHINGTON (14-7 overall, 4-6)

AT ARIZONA (14-7, 5-5)

10:30 a.m., McKale Center, Tucson.

Radio: 950-AM


Series: Arizona leads 39-21 all time and 22-6 in Tucson. Arizona won the earlier meeting this season, 96-87, as Mustafa Shakur scored eight of his 21 points in the last seven minutes. Quincy Pondexter led UW with 25 points.


Statistical leaders: For UW, C Spencer Hawes, 15 ppg; F Jon Brockman, 9.6 rpg; G Justin Dentmon, 4.2 apg. For Arizona, F Marcus Williams, 17.1 ppg; F Ivan Radenovic, 7.7 rpg; G Mustafa Shakur, 7.4 apg.


Scouting report: Washington has won three straight games, including its first road game of the season Thursday at Arizona State. Arizona has lost six of its last eight, its worst eight-game mark in 23 years. … UW is 2-3 this season against ranked teams. … Arizona (81.6 ppg) and Washington (81.5) are the two highest-scoring teams in the Pac-10. They also are ninth (UA, 73.7 ppg) and 10th (UW, 75.6) in scoring defense. … Arizona coach Lute Olson said 6-foot-9 freshman forward Jordan Hill has earned a place in the starting lineup and would get his third start today. … Olson said the health of his team is good, but several players are at less than 100 percent, including forward Marcus Williams (ankle), guard Jawann McClellan (knee), forward Bret Brielmaier (knee), and forward Chase Budinger (ankle). Williams is the No. 2 scorer in the Pac-10. … Olson said he wants to keep a couple of his bigger players on the court to try to counter Brockman and Hawes. … Shakur was named this week as one of 17 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, given annually to the best point guard in the NCAA.
