The Huskies practiced today at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, seeming in as good a spirits as could be expected, considering their tough loss yesterday at USC.

The players seemed to take the loss in stride mentally. Physically, Spencer Hawes admitted he had never played 47 minutes in a game before.

However, foul trouble forced four Huskies to the bench early, and at least that had the benefit of keeping their minutes down. After Hawes, Ryan Appleby played the most minutes — 37 — and Adrian Oliver (32) was the only other Husky to play more than 30 minutes.

Still, given the disappointment and the double-overtime, coach Lorenzo Romar said that maybe it’s best that the Huskies get an extra day off before returning to the court to face the No. 1-ranked Bruins on Sunday afternoon.
