Star of the game: Southern California freshman Taj Gibson notched his league-leading seventh double-double of the season, with 22 points and 10 rebounds.


Key stats: Four Huskies fouled out in 50 minutes, whereas a total of five Huskies had fouled out over UW’s first 11 games. … Washington still hasn’t been outrebounded this season, but USC kept the margin close: 39-38. … The Huskies committed 20 turnovers to USC’s 11.


Key run: Three-pointers by Gabe Pruitt and Nick Young pushed the Trojans ahead early in the second overtime and restored their confidence after a shocking end to the first overtime.


Observations: Washington’s five-game win streak over the Trojans ended. … The Huskies shot 43.9 percent from the field – best by a USC opponent this season. … USC’s Gabe Pruitt got his first start of the season after sitting out the first semester with academic issues. He scored 18 points. … USC has won nine straight games in the new Galen Center after losing on opening night.
