Due to a conflict with the Sonics game, Washington’s game against Idaho at 7 p.m. Wednesday will be shown only on Comcast cable Channel 17. It will not be available on Tacoma’s Click system.

As usual, the game will be on radio at 950-AM.

Washington leads the long-time series 122-49 overall and 72-13 in Seattle. The Huskies have won two straight, including 90-67 last season at Edmundson Pavilion.

This season, Idaho is 1-4. The lone win came against South Dakota State, and the Vandals have lost to North Dakota State, Montana State, Southern Utah and most recently Gonzaga, 76-51.

UW coach Lorenzo Romar said the Vandals are characterized by their quickness and aggressiveness to the ball. Idaho also has tried at least 20 3-pointer and hit at least seven in four of its five games. They have made at least one 3-pointer in 258 consecutive games.

As mentioned earlier, UW will debut a starting lineup of sophomores and true freshman as Romar will remove junior Ryan Appleby in favor of true freshman Adrian Oliver at guard. Oliver will be joined by freshmen Spencer Hawes and Quincy Pondexter and sophomores Jon Brockman and Justin Dentmon.

My preview story in the Wednesday paper will feature UW seniors Hans Gasser and Brandon Burmeister.
