The temperatures are supposed to climb back up to around 80 by the time the Huskies kick off their season Saturday afternoon against San Jose State.

That’s warmer than this morning, but Coach Willingham says the Huskies practiced in worse and so it shouldn’t affect his substitution pattern.

He says temperatures would have to reach the 90s for that to happen.

And that kind of heat might be little over a week away. A week from Saturday, the Huskies will be in Norman, Okla. There, the temperature is 91. However, the Sept. 9 gameday has just crept into the 10-day forecast, and those early projections call for the Huskies and Sooners to kick off on an 85-degree day cooled somewhat by a chance of thundershowers.
