Northern Iowa has been added to the field of the Basketball Travelers Classic to be held Nov. 12-14 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.

The Panthers went 23-10 last season and were a No. 10 seed in the NCAA tournament, losing in the first round to Georgetown. They will join UW and Pepperdine in the season-opening tournament, which has one opening left in the four-team field.

Meanwhile, UW is searching for two other opponents for the coming season. One home date came open when a scheduled game against Montana fell through. The other is the long-sought intersectional road game against a nationally recognized program.

There had been some printed and Internet mentions of Missouri as the possible opponent, but as of now the Tigers seem unlikely. However, they among a handful of possible candidates for the two-game contract, which would call for a return visit to Hec Ed in 2007-08.
