Animal parts from rendering truck scattered across Interstate 5 near Lakewood

For those asking about the animal parts scattered across northbound Interstate 5 near exit 122 by Lakewood, the State Patrol said about 6 p.m. that a rendering truck had lost some of its load.

It’s not the first time that’s happened here in Pierce County.

Sounds like Monday’s spill is only blocking the right lane.

CLEARED: Crash blocking State Route 302 by Purdy Spit

UPDATE as of 6 p.m. All lanes have been cleared, the state said.

INITIAL post: A crash is blocking state Route 302 by the Purdy Sand Spit, near 82nd Avenue Northwest, according to the state Department of transportation.

There are no detours at this time.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m., the state said. The State Patrol is at the scene.

CLEARED: Backups on eastbound SR 512 and northbound I-5 after wreck

A car wreck at eastbound state Route 512 and Portland Avenue East is causing a three-mile backup, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The crash, which happened about 3:15 p.m., is also causing a backup on northbound Interstate 5 from Bridgeport Way Southwest, department officials said.

Troopers are on the scene.

All lanes are open.

UPDATE as of 3:45 p.m.: All lanes are cleared, but a four-mile backup remains, according to the state Department of Transportation.

INITIAL POST: A crash that happened at 12:45 p.m. just north of Bridgeport Way on southbound Interstate 5 is causing mile-long backups on both southbound I-5 and state Route 512, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The two right lanes of southbound I-5 are blocked.

CLEARED: Rolled-over semi blocking ramp from westbound 512 to southbound I-5

UPDATE as of 9:27 p.m. The ramp has reopened, according to WSDOT.

INITIAL POST: A rolled-over semi is blocking the ramp from westbound state Route 512 to southbound Interstate 5, according to the Washington State Patrol.

No one was injured in the accident, the State Patrol said.

The accident that closed the ramp happened about 4:15 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Boeing fuselage may delay I-5 traffic overnight, first thing Sunday morning

A B-1 Bomber fuselage may delay traffic on Interstate 5 starting late tonight as it travels from Portland to Seattle, at some points blocking all lanes of the freeway.

The load is 131 feet long, more than 29 feet wide and 15 feet high. It is owned by Boeing, and will travel from the Portland International Airport to Boeing Field.

The first leg of the journey starts 11:30 p.m., as the fuselage is escorted by about four Washington State Patrol vehicles on its way to the Nisqually Weigh Station north of Olympia by about 6 a.m. Saturday.
