Crews will reduce northbound Interstate 5 to one lane starting at 11 p.m. tonight between South 48th and M streets and will follow suit with the southbound freeway at 1 a.m.

They will divert traffic onto the South 38th Street collector/distributor lanes in both directions.

The on-ramps from Interstate 705 and state Route 7 will close during the southbound I-5 lane closures.

The closures will let crews finish roadway striping and install overhead signing as part of an I-5 improvement project.

The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. in both directions.
