Lane on eastbound I-90 near snowshed closed due to slide

The left lane of eastbound Interstate 90 at milepost 58 is blocked due to a natural slide, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Crews have closed the lane for cleanup and to assess avalanche danger. The closure occurred near the snowshed at 5:35 p.m.

Traffic is getting through in the right lane. The left lane is estimated to reopen at 7:30 p.m.

Construction resumes on I-90 in Snoqualmie Pass

As the weather warms back up, crews are restarting construction on Interstate 90 in Snoqualmie Pass, which means drivers should expect delays and closures through the summer.

Work resumed today on a $19 million project to replace deteriorating sections of concrete roadway and asphalt shoulders on both directions of I-90 between Cle Elum and Easton.

There will be daytime lane restrictions before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, according to the state Department of Transportation. Nighttime closures will occur from June to early September.

Construction is scheduled to wrap up by fall.

Passes open despite earlier warnings of snow accumulations

If you’re headed to Eastern Washington, you’re in the clear, at least for now.

The Washington Department of Transportation has completed avalanche work on both Stevens and Snoqualmie passes and the two roads are open to traffic.

Weather forecasters had been predicting substantial snow, but thus far, it hasn’t happened in quantities enough to disrupt travel. Roads are reported to be bare and wet this morning. Traction tires are advised, however.

CLEARED: Westbound I-90 to close at midnight for snow removal

Crews will be closing part of Snoqualmie Pass at midnight to remove snow from the roadway, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The closure is on westbound Interstate 90 at milepost 52.

Snow must be moved from the right shoulder to the left shoulder embankment.

The road should reopen about 2 a.m., WSDOT reports.

UPDATED: Avalanche control closes both directions of I-90 in Snoqualmie Pass

UPDATE at 6:25 p.m. Eastbound lanes are now open.

UPDATE at 6:10 p.m. The westbound lanes are now open. Work continues on the eastbound lanes.

INITIAL POST: Both directions of Interstate 90 in Snoqualmie Pass are closed for avalanche control work, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The lanes closed at 5:30 p.m. It’s unknown when they will reopen.

Eastbound traffic is stopped at milepost 56 near Gold Creek. Westbound traffic is stopped at milepost 61 near Price Creek.

UPDATED: Westbound I-90 closed after multiple vehicle crash

UPDATE at 10:38 a.m.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 is closed near Cle Elum because of a multiple-vehicle crash.

Meanwhile, eastbound drivers that had been stuck because of the avalanche work has been allowed to move again.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 across Snoqualmie Pass have been reopened after avalanche control work this morning.

Eastbound drivers will be released to cross the pass about 10:40 a.m., the state DOT reports.

Snoqualmie Pass to close for avalanche control

Avalanche control work on Snoqualmie Pass will begin at 2 p.m., stopping traffic inĀ  both directions for an undetermined amount of time, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Eastbound traffic will be stopped at Gold Creek milepost 56, five miles west of the summit. Westbound traffic will be stopped at Price Creek, milepost 61.
