Hydraulic fluid spilled on Puyallup freeway causes spinouts

A truck dumped an unknown amount of hydraulic fluid on the ramp from southbound state Route 167 to state Route 512 in Puyallup this morning, causing multiple spinouts.

State troopers discovered the liquid about 7 a.m. State Department of Transportation crews spread sand on the roadway. It reopened about 7:30 p.m.

No one was injured in the spinouts, trooper Guy Gill said.

CLEARED: Single-car crash near SR 512 causing backup on southbound SR 167

UPDATE as of 4:15 p.m. All lanes are clear, but there is still a 4 mile backup, according to WSDOT.

INITIAL POST: A car that left the roadway and crashed on the ramp from southbound state Route 167 to westbound state Route 512 is causing backups on southbound SR 167, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The left lane of the ramp was blocked, and there was a 4 mile backup as of about 2:30 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

Collision blocking lane to westbound SR 512 in Puyallup

A collision is blocking the right lane to westbound state Route 512 near southbound state Route 167 in Puyallup, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. at milepost 6 on SR 167.

State troopers and emergency personnel are on scene.

One person was taken to a local hospital with injuries, trooper Guy Gill said.
