ALL CLEAR: Deadly crash closes SR 302 at Purdy Spit

UPDATED at 11:37 a.m.

A 52-year-old man was killed and a 54-year-old woman injured Monday morning when their cars collided on state Route 302 at the Purdy Spit.

The deadly crashed blocked both directions of the roadway for more than two hours.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the man was driving westbound on SR 302 about 6:45 a.m. when he crossed over the centerline and struck an oncoming car driven by the woman.

The woman, a Port Orchard resident, went off the side of the road and down the embankment.  Her car  did not go into the water,

SR 7 in Eatonville reopens after slope stabilization

A five-mile section of state Route 7 in Eatonville reopened this afternoon after being closed since Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Crews had been completing slope stabilization work on the highway between Alder Lake and La Grande after a landslide dumped more than 300 cubic yards of debris on SR 7 in April.

About 1,600 drivers take this route daily, WSDOT said.

UPDATED: On-ramp to SR 167 in Puyallup open after delay

UPDATED at 1:42 p.m.

The on-ramp from southbound Meridian to northbound state Route 167 in Puyallup is blocked this afternoon by an overturned semi truck, the state DOT reports.

The crash was reported just before 1 p.m. Emergency responders are on the scene.

Drivers should expect delays.

KIRO reports the driver was not injured.

UPDATED at 3:31 p.m.

All lanes are now open.

Reminder: SR 512, 167 closed this morning for trooper procession

Just as a reminder …

This morning’s procession for fallen Washington State Patrol trooper Tony Radulescu will close down parts of state Route 512 and state Route 167.

Eastbound state Route 512 and northbound state Route 167 will be closed to traffic starting at 10:15 a.m. SR 512 will close at Interstate 5. SR 167 will be closed from SR 512 to Willis Street in Kent.

Here is a more detailed list of the closures:

* South Tacoma Way at the I-5/SR 512 Interchange

* Intersection of 112th and Steele streets

* Ramps from northbound and southbound I-5 to SR

Trooper procession to close parts of SR 512, SR 167 on Thursday morning

Thursday’s procession for fallen Washington State Patrol trooper Tony Radulescu will close down parts of state Route 512 and state Route 167 on Thursday morning.

The Puyallup Police Department issued the following traffic advisory:

Eastbound SR 512 and Northbound SR 167 will be closed from 1-5 through Willis Street in Kent beginning at 10:15 a.m. After the processional passes through, freeway on-ramps will be re-opened. The estimated closure is from 10:15 a.m. through 11:45 a.m. The only vehicles that will be able to access Eastbound SR 512 during this processional will be emergency vehicles.

SR 512 reopened after police activity

The westbound lanes of state route 512 at Canyon Road are back open this morning after police activity blocked them earlier today, the state DOT reported.

Drivers had been getting around the incident using the shoulder.

All lanes were back open just after 5:30 a.m.
