Animal parts from rendering truck scattered across Interstate 5 near Lakewood

For those asking about the animal parts scattered across northbound Interstate 5 near exit 122 by Lakewood, the State Patrol said about 6 p.m. that a rendering truck had lost some of its load.

It’s not the first time that’s happened here in Pierce County.

Sounds like Monday’s spill is only blocking the right lane.

  1. serendipity says:

What? Who carries animal parts in a truck?

  2. Back in the day, this sort of cargo was kept off the highways somewhat because rendering was done on the Tideflats. I have no idea where the plants are today but I bet it is somewhere that NIMBY can’t reach. And trucks are needed to get there.

  3. GROSS! Serendipity–look up “rendering.”
