Maintenance work scheduled near and on the eastbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge will require night closures three nights next week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

At 9 p.m. Tuesday, contractor crews will close all eastbound Good To Go! electronic toll lanes and reroute vehicles through the toll plaza. The eastbound lanes will reopen by 4 a.m. Wednesday. The on-ramp from 24th Street Northwest to eastbound SR 16 in Gig Harbor will remain open.

At 8 p.m. Wednesday, crews will close the on-ramp from 24th Street Northwest to eastbound SR 16 in Gig Harbor. The ramp will reopen by 4 a.m. the following morning.

At 8 p.m. Thursday, contractor crews will close three lanes across the eastbound bridge and open the high-occupancy-vehicle (HOV) lane to all traffic. They’ll also close the on-ramp from 24th Street Northwest to eastbound SR 16. The eastbound lanes and ramp will reopen by 4 a.m. on Friday, WSDOT says.

During the Tuesday and Wednesday night closures, crews will perform routine maintenance on toll equipment.

Thursday night, two activities will take place. Construction crews will mark broken pavement areas in the eastbound lanes across the bridge. Maintenance crews will also be on site to paint one of the bridge’s expansion joints.

Actual pavement repairs will be scheduled during dry nights the following week. That will require another triple-lane closure across the eastbound bridge.

The pavement repairs fall under the Tacoma Narrows Bridge pavement warranty and will be performed by design-builder Tacoma Narrows Constructors, according to WSDOT.
