The on ramp from state Route 16 to northbound Interstate 5 will close at 11 p.m. tonight as crews work to fix damage from a crash this afternoon, according to the state Department of Transportation.

An errant vehicle damaged an accordion-like device that’s designed to absorb energy from crashes into barriers and other fixed objects, according to the state.

The ramp will reopen by 4 a.m. Friday.

Further details about the crash itself were not immediately available.

  1. There will be many more crashes in the Nalley Valley. The whole road project appears to be a real bad nightmare. Not sure of who is in charge of the project(if anyone)but what a mess. By the time you get off I-5 to 16 exit and then get onto 16, you feel lucky that you made it!! What a mess……
