Drivers must remove their studded tires by midnight Sunday, the Department of Transportation warns.

The tires are only legal in Washington from Nov. 1 to March 31. With warming temperatures, WSDOT says the tires are no longer necessary. No extensions will be granted this year.

Those caught with studded tires after March 31 are subject to a $124 ticket.
