Work on eastbound state Route 16 that was planned for tonight has been cancelled due to a high wind forecast, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Officials have not yet determined whether the scheduled closures for Thursday and Saturday will still happen.

If they do, all eastbound lanes at Union Avenue from 11 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday, and from 12:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

During the closures, the on-ramp from Union Avenue to eastbound SR 16 will also close.

The work is part of the Interstate 5/ SR16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project, which replaces the original eastbound lanes and completes the SR16/ Sprague Avenue interchange.
