CLEARED: Collision causes backups on northbound I-5 in Tacoma

A collision on northbound Interstate 5 at 56th Street in Tacoma is causing extensive backups, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred about 10:45 a.m.

Backups extend to the state Route 512 interchange, WSDOT reports.
