Press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

TACOMA – Emergency pavement repair on northbound Interstate 5 between South 48th and M streets means overnight lane closures tonight, Thursday, Nov. 15.

Crews will reduce northbound I-5 to a single lane and divert all traffic onto the South 38th Street collector/distributor lanes at 9 p.m.

All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 16.

The Washington State Department of Transportation contractor will be removing and replacing asphalt pavement sections on northbound I-5 that are part of the I-5 – 48th to M Streets Panel Replacement Project and do not meet contract quality performance expectations.
