Chinook Pass is closed for the season after heavy snowfall and debris slides from the recent storm, the state Department of Transportation reports.

The pass usually closes in mid-November. Officials will reassess the area in spring to determine when to reopen it.

The closure is from Morse Creek (five mile east of the summit) to the intersection of state Route 123 and state Route 410.
