Regional Council recommends transportation funding for Tacoma

The Puget Sound Regional Council is recommending more than $23 million in funding for projects serving Tacoma, part of more than $440 million in federal funds allocated to improve transportation around the region.

Projects include:
•Historic Water Ditch Trail – $100,000
•Milwaukee Way Overlay – $750,000
•Pacific Avenue Streetscape – $800,000
•Puyallup River Bridge F16A & F16B Replacement – $12.2 million
•Tacoma’s Top-4 Bikeways Project – $500,000
•Thea Foss Waterway – Site 10 Esplanade – $50,000
• Tacoma Dome Station G Street Bus Zone Expansion – $627,471
• TCC Transit Center Access Improvement – $712,068
•Sounder South Expanded Service – $3.1 million
•Sounder Vehicle Preservation & Maintenance – $4.2 million
