Expect delays on I-5 between 48th and M streets in Tacoma through the rest of the summer.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is replacing 75 damaged concrete panels on the freeway to create a smoother driving surface.

The concrete is the original road surface laid down when the freeway was built in the 1960s.

Replacement of the panels will require overnight lane closures in both directions of I-5 through the summer, the Transportation Department says.

That’s a rough patch of roadway.
Glad they will be fixing it.

if the work done through JBLM’s corridor is any indication, it’ll be worse when they’re done.. but that’s typical of the scumbag agencies.
