Bridge work will close a section of Johns Road East near South Prairie for nearly two weeks, starting Monday.

The road will be shut down between A.P. Tubbs Road and 272nd Avenue. A detour will be in place during the closure, which ends July 20.

Drivers traveling west will go through South Prairie to state Route 163. Driver heading east will follow Johns Road East to A.P. Tubbs Road, and then to state Route 162.

Crews are installing 32 concrete blocks against the abutment on the west side of the bridge to prevent erosion. The cost is estimated to be $25,000.
