A five-mile section of state Route 7 in Eatonville reopened this afternoon after being closed since Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Crews had been completing slope stabilization work on the highway between Alder Lake and La Grande after a landslide dumped more than 300 cubic yards of debris on SR 7 in April.

About 1,600 drivers take this route daily, WSDOT said.
