UPDATED: Section of SR 410 closed in Yakima County for mudslide

A mudslide has closed state Route 410 west of Bumping River Road in Yakima County, the state DOT reports.

The highway is closed at Milepost 87.5, which is 29 miles west of the junction with U.S. 12 and 45 miles west of Yakima.

The agency warns the closure could be long term because of the amount of debris over the roadway.

UPDATE: School bus driver cited for I-5 collision, no injuries

The Washington State Patrol cited a school bus driver for causing a collision that involved two other vehicles on the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp to Gravelly Lake Drive in Lakewood.

There were no injuries. Patrol spokesman Guy Gill wrote on his Twitter account that a child on the bus was evaluated by medical responders but was not injured.

The collision has been cleared, he wrote.

More nighttime closures on I-5 this week

More nighttime closures are planned on Interstate 5 this week as crews prepare for an extended closure of the northbound exit to Tacoma City Center (Exit #133).

State Department of Transportation crews will close part of the northbound I-5 exit to state Route 16 and Interstate 705 (exit 132) at 10:30 p.m. tonight. WSDOT reports the closure won’t affect northbound traffic but will impact drivers going from South 38th Street to I-5 or SR 16. The South 38th Street on-ramp will also be closed tonight because it is close to the work zone. Both ramps will reopen at 4:30 a.m.
