UPDATED at 8:08 a.m.

State DOT crews have closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 across Snoqualmie Pass this morning for avalanche control work.

The work began about 7:45 a.m. Eastbound drivers are stopped near Gold Creek. Westbound drivers are not impacted.

There’s no estimated time for the pass to be reopened to traffic.

“Due to the nature of this type of work an estimate of opening time cannot be made until after the avalanche control effort takes place,” DOT reported. “Once the amount of snow that comes down is determined, an estimated time of opening will be provided.”
