The eastbound lane of South 9th Street in Tacoma will be closed Tuesday while crews pour concrete for the downtown project, which is reconstructing South 9th Street from Market to Commerce streets.

The closure will last from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only one lane will be open during this time and traffic controllers will be in place to direct drivers.

Improvements for the project include new sidewalks, crosswalks and a new concrete road surface, according to the city.
