UPDATED at 6:54 a.m.

Pierce Transit is warning riders this morning that its routes in Parkland and Lakewood will likely be impacted by today’s memorial service for a slain Mount Rainier law enforcement ranger.

The memorial for ranger Margaret Anderson begins at 1 p.m. on the campus of Pacific Lutheran University.

Beforehand, there will be a procession of law enforcement and other emergency services vehicles from the Mountain View Funeral Home to the university. The procession is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

DOT reports that troopers will briefly shut down the ramp from eastbound state Route 512 to Steele Street for the memorial procession.

Pierce Transit said its mid-morning routes in Parkland and Lakewood will be affected. Check the agency’s website for more specific information.
