Pack your patience, this looks like a doozy of a commute

Yikes! That commute on Interstate 5 is looking ugly.

Traffic is already heavy through Pierce County on I-5. Drivers are stop-and-go on southbound I-5 in Tacoma and through Lakewood, according to the state DOT’s website.

The northbound commute looks heavy from Olympia through Lakewood.

“If you’re going northbound on I-5 from Olympia get ready for brake lights at Nisqually River,” State Patrol trooper Guy Gill posted on Twitter this afternoon.

Traffic also looks slow around the Pierce-King county line.

One way to mitigate this horrendous gridlock problem (as well as immense CO2 emissions) would be to increase the Federal Tax on a gallon of gasoline and diesel as well by $4.00 per gallon.
