UPDATED: Crash involving bus on Pacific Avenue

UPDATED at 8:15 a.m.

Police and firefighters are at the scene of a crash involving a Pierce Transit bus this morning in downtown Tacoma.

The Tacoma Police Department reports a truck rear-ended a bus in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue just before 6:30 a.m.

Sound Transit tells KIRO that no one on the bus was injured. The crash involves a 578 bus.

The driver of the truck was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The extent of the driver’s injuries were not known.

ALL CLEAR: Crash blocks SR 702 in Roy

UPDATE as of 6:56 a.m.: DOT reports SR 702 has reopened.

UPDATED at 5:50 a.m.

A crash involving a semi truck is blocking state Route 702 just east of Kinsman Road in the Roy area, the state DOT reports this morning.

The semi went off the roadway.

The incident began about 4:10 a.m. Troopers and medical aid are on the scene.

A signed detour is in place. Eastbound drivers are being diverted onto Kinsman Road, then to Eighth Avenue, then to 304th and finally to state Route 7/Old Mountain Highway.
