A power pole was damaged early today when a downhill vehicle left the road, struck the pole and then rolled over in the street.

Puget Sound Energy crews are close to finishing up their repair work on the damaged equipment, Kent police reported just after 10 a.m. The work was expected to be completed by 11 a.m.

The crash occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. on South 212th Street just east of state Route 167.

No one was seriously injured.

“The impact left the pole damaged to a degree warranting its replacement,” Kent police reported.

Kent officers set up a detour while PSE crews worked on the pole.
