UPDATE: All lanes were reopened at 6:40 a.m.

UPDATED at 6:10 a.m. Monday

The state DOT has closed three lanes of northbound Interstate 5 in Southcenter for emergency road repairs, leaving two lanes open for drivers.

The closure, which began about noon Wednesday, is from South 188th Street to just north of the Interstate 405 interchange. The mainline and HOV ramps from southbound I-405 to northbound I-5 also were closed.

The lanes were supposed to open around 4 a.m. Thursday. However, DOT reported early Thursday that the lanes would not be fully opened until 5:45 a.m.

DOT asks drivers to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
