UPDATED at 8:15 a.m.

Police and firefighters are at the scene of a crash involving a Pierce Transit bus this morning in downtown Tacoma.

The Tacoma Police Department reports a truck rear-ended a bus in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue just before 6:30 a.m.

Sound Transit tells KIRO that no one on the bus was injured. The crash involves a 578 bus.

The driver of the truck was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The extent of the driver’s injuries were not known.

  1. Stacy, Did you read your story before posting it? Because you wrote it was a ‘Pierce Transit’ bus in the first sentence, then in the third you wrote ‘Sound Transit’. They are different entities. By the way I saw the aftermath and it was a ‘Sound Transit’ bus.
