UPDATED: Crash blocks lane of I-5 in Lakewood

UPDATED at 1:18 p.m.

All lanes are now cleared from a crash that was blocking the left lane of northbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood this afternoon, according to the state DOT.

The crash is near Berkeley Street. Troopers and firefighters are on the scene.

Traffic is backed up six miles to Center Drive in DuPont.


ALL CLEAR: Motorcycle crash blocks eastbound SR 16 in Tacoma

UPDATE as of 12:14 p.m. WSP reports that all lanes are back open.

ORIGINAL POST: A motorcycle crash is blocking all lanes of eastbound state Route 16 at Union Avenue, the state DOT reports.

The crash was reported at 11:50 a.m.

Troopers and firefighters are on the scene.

Drivers are getting around the crash using the right shoulder.


ALL CLEAR: 2-car crash on SR 410 this morning

8:30 a.m. UPDATE: The debris has been cleaned up. SR 410 is back open to all traffic.

ORIGINAL POST: A two-car, rollover crash temporarily blocked both directions of state Route 410 at Myers Road East this morning, Bonney Lake police report.

Paramedics took one person to the hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred about 5 a.m. Bonney Lake police officers responded, secured the crash scene and opened one lane to westbound drivers, police reported.

They were able to get the vehicles off the roadway but not the debris.

UPDATE: Power restored at Tahlequah ferry dock

UPDATE, 3:51 p.m.: The power has been restored to the Tahlequah dock. The Department of Transportation says a 30-minute advance arrival is recommended for vehicles.

The state Department of Transportation announced this afternoon that drivers should expect delays at the Tahlequah dock due to a power outage at the terminal.

This likely means delays in and out of the Point Defiance ferry terminal as well.

UPDATE: Gig Harbor man killed in 1-car crash on SR302 near Purdy

Update, 9:23 a.m.: The man killed in this morning’s crash has been identified as 29-year-old Michael J. Iverson of Gig Harbor.

“Speed was a big factor in this morning’s fatality collision on SR-302,” Trooper Guy Gill wrote on Twitter. “It is unknown at this time if alcohol and/or drugs were involved.”

Update, 8:50 a.m.: According to the Washington State Patrol, a 29-year-old Gig Harbor man was killed in the crash. He was driving a 1995 BMW M3, which left the roadway and struck a tree.

A State Patrol spokesman said that speed is a factor in the crash.

Westbound SR 18 in Federal Way to close tonight

A late-night closure is planned on westbound state Route 18 in Federal Way, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The lanes near Interstate 5 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday.

Drivers will be directed on a four-mile detour onto northbound I-5 to S. 320th Street, then southbound on I-5 to SR 18.

Crews are installing framework for a future flyover ramp between westbound SR 18 and southbound I-5.


ALL CLEAR: Collision at Bay Street in Tacoma blocks SR 167 off-ramp, I-5

A multi-vehicle collision is completely blocking the off-ramp to state Route 167 and the right lane of northbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred about 3:25 p.m. at Bay Street.

Troopers and paramedics are on scene.

Backups reportedly extend two miles to Yakima Avenue.

UPDATE: WSDOT reports the collision has been cleared but backups still extend five miles.
